Midlife Crisis

I just realized that a midlife crisis is when you realize you are officially too old for some shit, but you don't know any other way to be. You are forced to grow up and adapt, or continue on and be stunted in growth. You wonder why you are displeased with those around you and irritated at your conditions. (Socially, personally, mentally... Whatever!) You can't seem to get around certain mental blocks. It's all apart of the process of growing. Why aren't these things discussed better and with the right terminology?

Lately, you see everywhere this major market for self-help, new age/old age spirituality, motivational speakers, and activism. All of this new but not so new information can be SO overwhelming. We are always grappling with our inner selves it is apart of the human experience, but now with the advancements in technology, we must now grapple with them keeping a public spectrum in mind... No matter how private we THINK we are. Even to find out that your thoughts may not totally be your construct anymore via social media and data companies. You have to wonder is this all by design? Why are our parents and grandparents so crippled in ways and the younger generation in others? How do we truly understand the "Midlife Crisis" and call it what it is? Better yet how do we begin to bridge the gap that would allow for a wealth of healing and information. How cool would it be to be able to interact with your elders better and have them help guide you through the journey?
